Our newest “old” machine
Our newest, old addition to our halter production at 723 Main Street. The Patent date on this and similar machines, we have, go back to 1904 and we have yet to find machines capable of the production and quality of work these 400 pound beasts put out. We could not hand craft 20,000+ halters a year without them.
We leased our first Campbell stitcher in 1980 ( they were not for sale back then) and taught ourselves how to make halters in a block stripping room that served as what would become Quillin Leather. Fast forward two years and a move into the big house. Consequently the noise that these halter stitchers was enough to get me kicked out of my make shift shop in the living room. We were lucky enough to find a store front on Main Street in downtown Paris, lessening the pain somewhat of being kicked out of my own house.
1982 saw the first of 4 different Quillin locations and has led to two permanent main Street locations - one showroom the other production. All this time we have been and built Quillins on Main Street
