Secretariat To Return To Paris KY
A Shoe and Halter!!!
“Look what showed up today at the Secretariat sculpt shop in Colorado! Claiborne Farm sent a horseshoe, handpicked to match a shoe of the era for his extended right front hoof! Granted, you won't really see it unless you lay down and look up , but we'll all know it's there! I'll clay the shoe in for molding, then salvage it afterwards.
Trivia: Did you all know Secretariat only wore shoes on his front hooves in retirement?
Quillin Leather and Tack (Paris, KY) has also sent a stallion halter, sized specifically for the monument! It's currently delayed due to weather at the Memphis hub, but we hope to get it Monday! I'll post that asap! Quillin has been the primary halter supplier for Claiborne for many years and is providing a beautiful replica, complete with engraved name tag.
CAN'T WAIT!!!
My thanks to Ralph Quillin, Dell Hancock, Will Bishop (and Claiborne farrier) \for making this all happen!”
